The Nutcracker is a magical two-act ballet that Tchaikovsky composed in 1892, whose story was inspired by the Alexandre Dumas version of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s novella. Along with Swan Lake, it is one of the most well-known, frequently performed and famous pieces in the classical repertoire.
It’s Christmastime. Herr Drosselmeyer, the magician, offers his goddaughter Clara a nutcracker doll as a gift. At midnight, a wondrous extravaganza begins: the doll comes to life, and Clara finds herself in the middle of a battle waged by the Mouse King. Fortunately, the Nutcracker is determined to confront him.
This Christmas classic sweeps spectators of all ages along on a fantastic adventure set to Tchaikovsky’s enchanting music, arranged for multiple clarinets and an organ.

Young and old alike are invited to enjoy 45 minute of wonderment as you listen to the most beautiful Nutcracker tunes and share a musical interlude with your family.
